New double layer burner and media

    has anyone here used a double layer dvd+/-r burner and played the recording on a standalone dvd player. want know if a normal dvd player can read the DL media properly

    Yep, you should have no problem taking media from your dual layer drive and playing it back in a regular playback deck; the format of pre-recorded discs and dual layer blanks are almost exactly the same.

    DVD+R DL actually seems very compatible - it even plays in many machines that DVD+R won't. The only drives I've seen that reject it are some Toshiba models. However you must ensure you use a drive that uses the DVD-ROM booktype - i.e. the LG4120 (with relevant firmware).
