Found the following on Outpost Gallifrey...
and the official press release...
It'll be interesting to see how he interprets the role.
Let's hope they put him into a contract, so he doesn't jack it in after one series!
Tennant is supposed to be a fan of the old show - Eccleston has stated that he wasn't - so I've got a feeling he may be more willing to stick around a little longer than Doctor #9.
As long as he doesn't spend every episode wide-eyed, gurning, nodding furiously and saying 'excellent' just like a 5-year-old after his very first Sherbet Dip, we'll all be laughing guys....
Hopefully a Doctor to remember....
Unfortunately I bet Russell T Davis will still write the scripts.
I haven't seen Casanova, but from the previews he looks a bit of a drippy chinless wonder. Not very Dr Who.
Sylvester McCoy got the part, so let the new guy have a chance when he starts. Is it me or does Ecceleston come over a bit yobish.
He was not much good either but funnily played him very good in the TV Movie.
Yes a bit chavish although a good guy
Casanova was quite fun, actually - watch it if you get the chance.
Tennant is actually rather a good actor, I think. He's naturalistic enough that you don't always realise he's acting. I'm curious as to whether he will make the Doctor scottish.
Sylvester McCoy's Doctor certainly had a Scottish accent!
a bit off topic but i think Derren Brown would make an excellent "The Master"!
No.... Simon Pegg has definately got to be the new Master - he'd be brilliant!
Simon Pegg is a highly effective comedy writer ("Spaced" has moments of sheer genius, and they can't all have been written by Jessica Stevenson), but his skills as a performer are distinctly second-rate, IMO. Derren Brown is an interesting suggestion.
Personally I'd like to see Tom Baker as The Master. (He has actually suggested this himself in a couple of interviews - possibly not seriously).
Or Ian Richardson.
or Alan Rickman.
Yes I know he wouldn't, it's just a thought.
Here's what would be a good spin on the Master - how about Paul McGann!
That the Master has re-generated into one of the Doctor's former selves - that could be interesting!
The 13th Time Lord is Jodie Whittaker after all

God, I hope she drops the Huddersfield for something a lot less grating.
For the Doctor I think she's already dropped something.
Nah, I like a northern accent on a lass. It's got a lot of character.
