This might be old news, but I found this on page 36 of Personal Computer World magazine:

Ian McMurray of TI talking about dLP chips:

"The next generation will use Sequential Colour Recapture (SCR), which recycles light filtered out by the colour wheel, offering a choice of more brightness or less power drain and longer bulb life. SCR will be coupled to a more efficient colour wheel with spiral filters."

McMurrat was speaking at the launch of a new range of of DLP products from Optoma, including a 14.67in deep/50in HDTV called RD-50 which sells for £3,995 inc VAT.

Two new products also optimised for for home cinema are the £3,495 inc VAT H56, and the £6,495 h76 inc VAT.

    We'll see shall we?

avsforum.com recently had a TI rep talk about DLP. He stated they were not happy with the results of altered color wheels.... it sounded like to me they are not changing a thing.

    Hi skoprowski,

I did hear of that visit from the TI rep, but didn't read that part of the forum (special guest area?).

Sounds like conflicting reports, so will be interesting to what actualy turns up.

    Gary.

I have a H56 a see next to no rainbow effects when using it, despite the fact I seemed to be quite susceptible to them on other DLP projectors, including the Optoma H50.
