    Hi,

I have SKY+ and a multiroom digibox installed at home.

Just recently my multiroom digibox has gone a bit pear shaped and gives me a "no satellite signal being received" error message. Thinking it could be the line in rather than the box, I tried it out on the SKY+ feed but it still doesn't work. (SKY+ works fine).

I rang SKY and as its not under warranty, they want a £65 call out charge.

So, I was thinking its probably a better idea to go out and buy another digibox myself and keep sky out of it.

    Questions:

    1) Any recommendations on a box to purchase? and where to purchase it?
    2) Do I have to let sky know about the new box or do I just plug the card in a nd away I go?

Thanks in advance for any help!!

If you get a new box, you have to ring Sky to get them to 'marry' the card to the box.

If you are outside of the minimum term for the multiroom subscription then you might consider ringing SKY to cancel and when they ask why tell them the digibox doesn't work. They might offer a reduced call out or a free one, you lose nothing really if they don't since you are planning on buying a new digibox anyway.

Have you tried a box reset? Press and hold backup on the box while plugging in the power cord - this should do a software update on the box too. Might just ressurect it.
