    Hi all,

can anyone recommend a good prosumer camera,i have read a lot of reviews and my head is spinning.

i think i am favoring the olympus c 7878.as it has wide angle and also zoom.

i am going to south africa in november and want to take some safari and other pics and i think this camera should suit i have used a 35mm slr a while ago but i dont want to start messing with lenses etc.

Any advice i would be gratefull, thanks Garry.

Ahh thats why i couldnt find it.

Well the specs look good, it is wide which is a major plus for me,27mm is not too shabby at all, most are 35. So it'll be great for indoors and landscapes ect. Shoots with Raw and tiff, has a hot shoe, live histogram (thats very handy). Also has a bulb feature for up to 2 min exposures, shutter speeds up to 1/4000

That is a very well kitted out camera i have to say. I love that it's 27mm you dont see that often on digi cams...

It's only 4x but its 8mm wider then most other zooms, this for me is more important.

Close to the spec of that is the canon G6 http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/canong6/ which is also a fine camera, but i do like the wide angle of the 7070

I'm sure you know already about the panasonic 12x zooms like the FZ20 Very good cameras.

But i'm impressed with the specs of the 7070 i have to say

If you're after shooting wildlife in SA then you might want one of the 12x zooms like tha pansonic FZ20 or the new canos S2 IS. But if it's landscape then the 7070 is the one, i'd choose it anyway as all in all it has the specs i like

You just need to work out what's important to you
