I've just seen the new Denon AVR 1906 and 2106 for £240 and £370 respectively. They seem great prices to me. Has anyone seen any reviews for either receiver.

Unlikely as they've only just appeared. They're not even on Denon UK's Website yet.

Good Prices - Do you mind if I ask where? as I'm considering one of these. I'm struggling to wait though, someone had previously been told these arent appearing until perhaps end September now :(

Nope. You'll need to look further up the range for HDMI support. The new 3806, 4306 will have it, as do the current A11XV & A1XV. There's been suggestion that the new 2806 will also have HDMI but no details have appeared on it yet.

Anyone know if either model feautres lip sync delay? A bit off topic, but I'm looking at the Denon 1906 or the Pioneer VSK-915 and can't see anywhere that says either has any sort of lip sync delay. Must I assume they do not?

Update: Sorry the Pioneer website states

Auto Surround Set-Up Delay - Yes

I'm guessing this is the feature I'm looking for. Now any ideas about the Denon?

All new Denon models should have it apart from the very base model (AVR 1506). This is certainly the case for the US Models but sometimes features are missing from the UK/European models (such as Component Video Up-Conversion).

That probably means Delay times as in those used for speaker distances rather than correction for Lip-Sync problems.

There's a review of the 1906 in the new What Hifi. Group test and the 1906 comes out on top. That's tested at a RRP of £330 as well so both the 1906 and 2106 look like cracking value at internet prices.

    Cheers Jase!

I shall be scouring the second hand market for one of the older models (you know the ones that are about 12 months old  )

    Hows the extension going?

I'm sure you're right Jase, thanks for replying. So we think the 1906 has lip-sync correction, but I'm now unsure about the Pioneer VSX-915. Anyone got one of these and can clarify?

915 as the 1015 or 2014 DON'T have lyp sync adjustment...

Only the AX5 and above do. Pioneer calls it "Sound Delay" under "conveniences".

Thanks for that Mutley, looks like the Pioneer is out then.

Scuba Doo, I can't see the 2106 for £244 on Unbeatable. Did you mean £344?

If not, please post a link, because I'll get me one of those instead of the 1906!

Rumours are the US Model will be out in September but there haven't been any details released about it as yet. Cutting it a bit fine if it's true.

New AVR-2106 sitting in box in lounge now :) . Bought it today from Hiway hifi, will hopefully set it up tonight once the baby is in bed!. Cost £360, almost the same price as Unbeatable once you put the P&P on top. First Av amp I've owned but I'll endeavour to report back once its up and running. The amp is being used with a canton CD1 set with the centre up graded to the cd?? and the original centre moving to rear duty.

The speakers at jake james forum special prices really are well worth the money. Our room isnt particularly huge and admittedly we tend to keep the volume at fairly low to medium levels but the sound is very impressive for the size of the satellites. Build quality is amazing for the price, the Cd 50 upgrade to the centre channel adds some definate quality to the front sound stage.

Initial impressions of the amp are very positive, the subtlety of some of the sounds from DVDs replayed now on the system are really striking. This is the first Av package I've owned but the shifts in positioning and the speed which the system moves from delicate to full blown crashes is incredible.
