Came across this at the Denon Japan site.

In Japan it's model number is AVC-2890. It has the 3rd generation 200MHz SHARC processor with AL24 processing, 100w x 7, DPL2x, 100MHz video bandwidth, and RS232c port. It will be available at 110,000 yen (~£560) in Japan in late May 2004.

This must be the 2805, no?

Sounds like a repackaged Marantz SR7400, seeing that they are the sme company, I wouldnt be surprised. ;)

:nono: The joint ownership of the two brands shows no sign of making them share anything more than nuts and bolts. That they still have two design teams in existence and build in different locations, implies that this (for this generation at least) is still a very seperate design.

WAs said in jest as a tongue in cheek statement, apologies, should have made that more clear in my post :D :suicide:

It is indeed the new 2805,

News from areadvd -
http://www.areadvd.de/news/2004/200405/040520040001.shtml

It has
- the same acoustic optimizer
- the same parametric 8-Band-Equalizer, which 64 frequencies (in 1/6 oktave steps)
- 3 individual settings + 1 normal?
- 7x100w
- improved Denon AL24-Processing and pure Direct mode
- over generously dimensioned passive cooling sections, so that no disturbing exhaust limits the acoustic pleasure
- the same SHARC processor
- audio delay feature
- composite & s-video upconversion to component signals
- same innovative display

I think it doesn't feature the Burr Brown DAC's, otherwise apart from a remote that is not as advanced, and the power, there aren't any major differences apart from a price saving ;p
