    Hi,

I'm about to start work on an av-room and intend getting a barco crt proj once constrution is finished but could any one please tell me what ceiling fixings these need and how much do they weigh?

Also what should I allow for interms of pre-wiring and what distance should it be set from the screen?

    cheers

    Gary

Ps. anyone for any good barco web sites for the differences between the models etc?

    Hi Garyc,

Get the Barco Lens / Distance calculator............ see here.

Not sure about the bolts, but most people use lag bolts to mount their mount / projector to the ceiling, or make a DIY mount out of unistrut.

Once you have worked out your distance from PJ to screen, then you can work out the cable distances. I'm sure a ceiling mounted power socket would work, unless you have a suitable socket elsewhere ??

Just basic information, i'm sure there are others that could give more detailed info........

    Cheers

As a matter of pure interest, who sells Unistrut in the UK? I've never seen it.

    Hi All,

    Garyc:
Yeah, don't i know about it...........i've been learning about CRT projectors for about 6 months now, and there is still plenty more to learn. And that's before i've got my hands on one !! Shouldn't be long now, got something in the pipeline !!

    GagHalfrunt:
I'm not sure about a UK supplier of unistrut, i'm sure there must be some available at a building supplier ?? Maybe ask the CRT clan (Roland, Chris & Gordon), and see if they know ??

    Cheers

Radio spares is the best place for small lengths, I get through quite a lot of it and have a local comapny that sells it (they buy it in 10m lengths and cut as required)
I did approach unistrut UK once but they wanted a £500 minmum order. http://www.unistrut.com./product/mframe.html
Try a local airconditioning company they will get through stacks of it.

Try most electrical wholesalers, comes in 3 and 4 mtr lenghts (you cut it down) but MT make a light gauge range which is just as strong and slightly better looking!?! Its still ugly though! and zebadees are standard size/shape.
You'd only need one length though.

    Hi Gary,

See here, for a better view of how to ceiling mount a CRT projector.

    Hope that helps ??

    Cheers
