Hi, I'm new on this site. Seems like a really good source of info.

I have a nad 524 cd player and rotel amp. The cd player doesnt play cdr's etc, this is very annoying now but the player sounds great. I bought it ex-demo and thinking about getting something newer which plays all types of cd and must be as good or better.

Is the c521 bee as good, as it seems a little cheaper, or should I try the more expensive 542? Or is there perhaps something else that would sound great for 180-260 ex dem or new.

Sounds like a really good player Jerry. Do you know if the cd sound quality is as good as the none dvd version as if I were to buy one i'd use it for cds 99% of the time?

Either way its very tempting at this price, might go and find one to listen to.
