    Hi All,

Just thought I would start this off:

One of these is arriving today...

    http://www.standsunique.com/strata.html

I will post photos as I build it. Its gonning to be used as a dvd / music player getting content from a raid 5 media server (already up and running and serving music and dvds)

Spec roughly p4 3.0 with radeon 9800 pro graphics. RME Digipad sound card and gigabit ethernet on a micro atx motherboard. Full size silent 400 watt PSU.

Let me know quickly if the spec needs adjusting as I am about to order the bits.

Nice to see some ventilation under the processor and the area around the MB. Sure is a pretty case.

Your specs look fine, what mobo are you intending to use?

Have you thought about a PSU, I recently changed mine to a seisonic with 120mm fan which is the best I've "not" heard.

Thats exactly the one I was thinking of getting (PSU). As for motherboard a micro-atx from Intel with gigabit lan £99 from dabs.

By the way the case is £220 + vat.

that case looks great, i am kind of getting into HCPC's and that looks just the job for it. As it is more compact what kind of components can you fit in there?is it just the normal motherboards, graphics cards etc?

It takes a micro-atx motherboard - I bought an intel one from DABS for 99 quid - does the job nicely and don't let the micro fool you - it will run all the Intel Processors with the fastest available specs (3.0GHz + 800MHz FSB PC3200 ram)

I have used a variety of uATX MB's in these units for various people with no issues. I personally have found the Intel boards to be really nice for this case due to the positioning of components on the board itself.

The only warning to note (and it's fairly standard for this type of case) is that if you intend to use a full length PCI card which also features a molex power adapter then the smallest case is a tight fit for this card style. Note it DOES fit but due care and attention needs to be made. If you are likely to use a number of full length cards then the slightly deeper model will make a huge difference to you.

    Regards Neil.
