I've a 2011 1.25 fiesta zetec. The battery went dead and the aa changed it for another 2 days ago.

When I've been driving it in the last few days it seems much more responsive to throttle and just drives better and accelerates faster. The old battery was tested and was way down in current. So could this affect the current to spark plugs and thus, that's how performance has been affected.

Once running it is the alternator that provides the current to run the car and has extra to charge the battery so I doubt it has made a difference.

It maybe that you have reset the ecu, maybe had an old fault code that was cleared by removing the battery

They did check the alternator output as well?

Your alternator is probably doing less work now which may give a small increase in power. As others have said it may just have cleared the adaptive strategy memory in the ECU so it's learning again.
