New Car (again :))

Well, I had my Volvo S40 for 6 weeks and the gearbox developed a rather worrying whine so I took it back to the dealer and traded it for a Saab 9-3 1.9TiD Vector Sport. It's soooo much quieter than the Volvo it's like it was built on a completely different planet. Fingers crossed this one lasts a bit longer!

only had it 2 weeks so far, no real complaints or problems, except perhaps the fuel consumption, not as good as I thought for a diesel, have averaged 29 mpg so far!

I put this down to a combination of town driving, auto box, and air con on all the time via the climate control. Oh and a slightly heavy foot at times.

eek! I better get more than that lol. I do a 90mile a day commute though so reckon I should be in high 40s territory at the least. Looking forward to driving to work in the morning! Bizarre really :)

I'm sure you will my commute is only 6 miles each way via some heavy traffic, hence the auto. Usually do more distances at weekends and from time to time for work so I'm sure I can get that average up. I'm expecting high 30's to mid 40's over time.

update: on the commute this morning I averaged an indicated 55.6 with an indicated best of 64.9mpg

Well chuffed with that even if it is optimistic!

Thats the best time to buy a Saab, they loose 70%+ in the first three years then depreciate very slowly after that. I like them, something different. :)

Have you reset the trip computer for each trip? You must drive it like a loonie to get 29mpg from a diesel.

I've got the 2.0T Aero and round town I get 28mpg and long motorway trips (with climate control on all the time) I return 38mpg.
