    Hi There,

Judging by the sudden dimming of my projector I assume I need to get a new bulb (3.3k hours) and I notice that there is quite a range of copies out there at about 1/3 price of the Epson originals.

Does anyone have any suggestions or warnings about these copies?

    Thanks in advance.

    Ben

I see I can't change the title once posted and I've managed to get an 'H' in there somehow. Doh!

The opinion of most people is that these cheap copy bulbs (which are often described as genuine) offer false economy at best & at worst can physically damage the projector. The genuine lamps are expensive but given you have had 3.3K hours out of one says they are not bad value! the only exception to the above would perhaps be a "Diamond" Lamp, these are genuine lamps with non genuine enclosure, however you get an extra months warranty over originals.
