Seen this thing about a lot online over the last few days:

BT YouView+ box gets downsized, now fanless - Pocket-lint

Curious if anyone has received it or used it. If what they say is true I'm curious about the £35 upgrade as my humax box isn't exactly flying along at the moment and seems to love crashing at first boot

I've just ordered one - £35 activation fee and BT TV £5 per month for 12 months so £95 in total which is less than half the price of ordering it from Argos.

I am currently with BT Infinity but don't have TV - just added TV Essentials to my package through the My BT website.

I received my new BT DTR-2100 box this morning - very small and quick to respond to the remote control. I use a Harmony remote which works fine with the Humax DTR-1010 IR codes.

    Finally, here's a review of BT's new G4 box -

BT YouView+ box review (2014) – faster, smaller, quieter Humax DTR-T2100 - PC Advisor

BT have been very low-key about the release of this, but it is apparently a second generation YV box. Smaller, faster, slicker and more powerful too (processor wise).

Here's a link to the user manual and a BT Q&A as well -

Fanless sounds dodgy, wouldn't expect them to last two years.

The PSU is outside the box, Trollslayer, so why would you think that?

The hard drive, the low profile. The main device will be dissipating about 4-5W on it's own.

I set one up for a customer while installing their new TV, the box it self felt really well made, nice and small and as said PSU is external, the menus, guide and setup flew along really quickly, much faster than the current Humax models, and much much faster than my Talktalk Huewai box.

The remote is pretyy well laid out also, and does not have the annoying finger print holding shiny finish like most boxes.

I'm considering chaning to BT for one of these once my TT contract is up .

I recently picked one of these up via eBay and can confirm that is so much faster than the TT box. Its not the most beautiful STB I have ever seen, but once you have one in your hands you can actually see its quite well made. Best of all is the remote which has a lovely feel/layout and is a massive step forward in comparison to the TT one. After a software update it picked up the TT settings (including boosts and TTPlayer and seems to be functioning just fine so far)!

And you can record the TT Boost channels with that box.

£90 B.I.N for the STB and remote only. I also saw a new one listed complete for £160...
