Hi all, well my old Denon player is on its last legs and i think it's time for an upgrade. I am way out of date with what is good/bad or otherwise. I want a player that is region free (i have DVd's and bluray discs from Oz, America and the UK) and a player that is able to play BDRW discs. I want excellent playback qualities in both picture and sound. I don't really know what other features are available these days as the old Denon I bought back in 2007. So give me ideas guys .. oh and give me players that are in all price ranges :)

I was looking at the Oppo as I still need analogue out for my Denon AVC-A10 SE 7:1 .. the only thing that turns me off is there are reports of playback issues .. that is what I get with my old Denon now .. I don't need 4k though as I'm still using my Pioneer Kuro 1080 100hz screen. Throwing in region free and the Oppo is up to £730 .. unless I can find the needed hardware to region free it myself .. I shall have a look at the link you gave above :)

As you don't mention an interested in UHD then you could always get a Sony BDP-S6500 for around £190. Would leave you enough to get a Denon AVR-X2400H and leave £40 cables verse the Oppo.
