I've just been having a quick browse around the BK site and along with a natty new subwoofer homepage design here:
    http://www.bkelec.com/HiFi/Sub_Woofers.htm
I don't think it's complete yet but that's hardly relevant.

More excitingly, there looks to be a new design on the way called the Gemini. No more information but I'm excited already.

You heard it here first. :)

The name suggest it's a dual, maybe a twin Monolith?

I was wondering about an isobaric design with a pair of those 12" drivers. Or of course a pair of the Peerless drivers. :)

Having said that, multiple drivers will undoubtedly hike the price up along with the performance as there's the additional drive units and cabinetry to factor in. This could be one for the big boys.

There isn't much point in guessing but if there was - my guess would be that you are wrong as large subwoofers aren't BK's core business and unless they change their marketing they are unlikely to sell enough subs larger than the Monolith to make it worth while.

My guess is something between XLS200 and Monolith in terms of size and power.

What about a low-profile, twin-driver jobby to go under the telly?

There's room for more imagination in the furniture department. :smashin:

Particularly for the hen-pecked, lady AV fans looking for more ornament space. :)

More manufacturers should make us guess about their new products like this.

Perhaps that's the idea - to get us to come up with the ideas!

    :rotfl: Nice One.

I'd like it to be a tall cylindrical sub ala SVS PC but made to look like a NASA space rocket....PJ :)

It's a sub for the WAF market, should sell well.
Still I'd liked to have seen a Danley PB-12 beater.

At a guess they're running out of the Ruark models that they're practically giving away.

I still want to see a beastly dual 12" isobaric model. :D

I had a chance to test the Gemini for a weekend. It's a very sofisticated little bugger allright. It has enough power to deliver the bass that music gives even at quite loud levels. Movies where alot harder on it, not much to talk about there.

A very good one in it's pricerange considering the dual crossovers and displays.

If this has become a wishlist, then I would like the following subs:
-Dual monolith with 500W (as they have the amp)
-A new flagship model, wich would beat a PB12-Ultra, and have remote and dual filters
-A "lite" version version of the flagshipmodel, without the remote and dual filters

Please explain more about the dual crossovers and displays. :)

At a guess they've seperated the controls for high level and low level providing something approaching an ideal sub for use in a stereo system with some HC capability. :)

Your guess is right. The displays are a nice little bonus on that. I can post a few pics of the ones in Gemini.

    EDIT
Just an Amen on MarekFin's post...

    EDIT2:
    The pics
    Gemini amplifier
    Amp again

I'd say that would be overkill for the UK market.

It seems some British AV fans lie on the floor beside their subs to get the most out of them. A pair of subs (with a headband like headphones) would be more comfortable. And would help to keep you awake during action films.

Is the picture too dark to show the high level connections?
This would rule out the Gemini's use for many stereo enthusiasts.
This was the Achille's heel of the PB10-ISD.
(Not to mention the lack of low pass filter)

Oh, forgot to tell that there are no high level outputs. Inputs are by neutrik.
I guess I was wrong telling you it's a crossover, just a low pass filter...

    EDIT:
You guys have way too dark displays on your PCs.

A quick gamma adjustment shows that there is a high level input on the standard Neutrik connector that BK use for them. :)

No. We just don't live north of the Arctic Circle.
So we have real daylight. When it's not raining.

Thanks for the info on the Gemini by the way.
One day someone will explain to us why Fins know more than us about a new British-made product.
Is industrial espionage a popular hobbby in Finland? :)
