New Bedroom Build

Hi,
I have decided that the bedroom needs a new face lift , in fact it needed ripping out and starting again so that's what i have done. At first i thought i would put 5.1 surround sound speakers on the wall, but decided to just install 3 front speakers with the option to use 2 rears later on if needed. Most of the of the movies and tv series are watched downstairs via the HTPC. Anyway hope you like what i've done and hope to get everything posted in the next couple of days,

This is how the bedroom was at the start i have removed the built in wardrobe doors and as you can see the wardrobes were very tired to say the least Sky HD had been installed at this point and hooked up to a nice portable tv
at least it was something to watch whilst i was working

Started to dismantle the wardrobes couldn't believe the length of some of the screws and in some places even nails
As per usual some of the plaster came off so i decided to get the whole room skimmed over. An expense i thought i may get away without spending but if your gonna do something you may as well do it right...or so am told.

Lookin gd steve can't wait to see the end results! Love seeing bedroom setups and am in the process of doing mine, just delayed by work. I like to see you've got your priorities straight..SKY HD first to go in, cnt be working with no motivation haha

Next stage was stripping the walls and getting rid of the old carpet wasn't to hard just a bit of a ball ache, also had to remove the back piece of skirting board so that the media units could sit flush to the back of the wall, needed to use the crowbar to get the skirting off and as you can imagine the lower part of the wall decided to come with it so getting it skimmed was a good idea

Plastering is all done, decided not to plaster the wall where the built in wardrobes had been as there was going to be new built in wardrobes installed. or thats what i told everyone..The real reason was due to my slight miss-calculation of how long it takes for plaster to dry i would of been putting wardrobes on to damp plaster which wouldn't be the best idea in the world. There is a filler to go around the wardrobes so it all worked out in the end.

Hi mate,

TV is 42 Panny along with Amp, Sky HD And Xbox 360 Elite.

Wardrobe's insides are being installed and then plaster left to fully dry out. Electrician has been and installed the spotlights and additional electrics and a couple of coats of white emulsion has been applied. Built in chest of drawers and media unit has been put into place. a few paint testers applied to see which colour to paint the false wall.

James the chest of drawers are called Zebrano they have a slight gloss finish to them, they match the wardrobes also had a couple of single black gloss wardrobes on either end.Also used the black gloss when doing the top and bottom plinths to frame the zebrano wardrobes, a friend in derby made them he makes kitchen and bedroom units, you should be able to find the zebrano using Google

All finished now, radiator has been put on, new carpet installed, media unit glass door installed.

False wall has been installed and framed along the top in black gloss, Socket fronts pushed on, the speakers will be replaced with black ones once funds allow.

There is cable run along the back in case i want to use 5 speakers but 3 are fine for me as i watch most TV and Sky downstairs.

From start to finish mate think it was about 3 weeks but that wasn't doing something everyday.
