    Hi all,

I've just bought an Arcam AVR300. I was upgrading from a Denon AVC-A10SE.

IMHO, the Arcam is a superior amplifier for music, with a tad more bottom end grunt, and a more controlled midrange. The Arcam appears to be able to play at a louder volume before the image and separation falls apart.

For movies, to be honest, I cannot tell much difference.

The Denon is now for sale in the classifieds section.

    Regards,
    ihan

    Hi John,

In terms of absolute power, they are both rated very similarly. Denon all 5 channels driven: 125W. Arcam all 7 channels driven 100W. I can't get anywhere near maximum output without deafening myself, but to me, it seems that the Arcam is cleaner (less distorted) at higher output levels.

Sadly, nobody seems interested in the Denon :(

    Regards,
    Ian

I suppose the Arcam has better design than the older Denon but it is still a good amp hope you manage to shift it :)
