New amp

Hi there,

I have had my trusted Pioneer VSX-D2011 for about 7 years now. Can't believe how quickly time flies!

I am looking to upgrade this to take advantage of HDMI/Dolby TrueHD etc.

I only have a 5.1 setup due to room limitations.

Can anyone suggest a suitable replacement that won't break the bank?

Many thanks

How much is in the bank that we are not allowed to break into :D And what speakers are you using with the amp?

I think if you're happy with the Pioneer sound with your speakers, then go with another Pioneer.

The VSX 919AH-K AV is around £400 and the next one above, the 1019 is about £550 (quick google search).

If you would like to change the sound, then the Yamaha or denon recievers will give a warmer overall sound.

Yamaha 765 £350
Denon 1910 £400
yamaha 1065 £500
