Last time i was in a studio (also the first time) had problems with getting too much light in when getting near f1.4.

Thinking i should get a Neutral Density Filter/s.

Should i get a range and just one?

7dayshop, ND filters around a fiver:eek: worth it to try out

Can you not lower the light output?

I guess diffusers may ruin the effect

I would use a 2 stop B+W ND. You could get a 3 stop but I'd stick with the two.

A cheap 2 and 3 may help decide which is best for you

Thinking about it a bit more, 1.4 is pretty wide and if you are going for really shallow effect maybe a 3 stop would be better.
You could also muck about with gels but I would not bother

seems they come in 2/4/8 flavours.

Might just get a 2 and a 4. Can always use both at the same time if needed :)

3 stop:)

Edit: Just realised you prob meant the 7dayshop ones- multitasking and it's not going well!

Let us know how those cheap filters work. I hope they are actually colour neutral.
