I'm looking for a system which will stream music from my PC via network (the network is ran off Homeplug). I have used a 360 previously, but would like something more dedicated. Not bothered about speakers as I will put it through my amp. Price around 300-500.

    Any recommendations?

    Squeezebox is the obvious canadidate.
The Sonos system is another much talked about system.

Google will tell you all the technical info you need...

Hi,not had a Squeezebox long, but finding it excellent.Analogue wise supposedly as good as a reasonable priced CD Player.Modded SB or the bigger brother Transporter, better but £1000.Don't matter to me as much,as i'm using the digital out to a CA840C.
Look at Slimdevices website, even thou its now badged as Logitech.Theres a code that might get you it a bit cheaper(£176)from Logitech.

    Cheers BOB

    cheers!

looks like the squeezebox then, but I'm reading of compatibility issues with Vista, which may cause me some problems (or should that be "add to my problems")

    Hi,even the originator/designer + staff(prob payed by Logitech?)frequent the forum.
You can run the main program,Slimserver on a NAS(Linux based i think).NAS's with it on already or whatever can be expensive thou.Theres cheaper solutions with a NAS,but these look a bit more complicated(to me at least,no programmer)& require a bit of work, getting Slimserver installed etc.Should maybe save a bit on electricity thou,if nothing else?

    Cheers BOB
