    Hi guys,

Not sure if anyone will be able to help but here goes anyway,

I'm thinking of buying a network hard drive so I can stream all my music and films to my xbox without having my PC on but from a quick search on the net it seems like some won't work as they require software to be installed on every computer.

Does anyone know if there are network drives that will work with the xbox? I'm currently looking at the following drives:

    Buffalo LinkStation 250GB RJ45
    and Western Digital NetCentre 250GB

Does anyone know if my xbox will be able to access these drives? :lease:

    Thanks

I have a 250Gb Linkstation as my fileserver, and XBMC streams happily from it over the SMB link.

    Cheers for that,

I've seen it quite a bit cheaper than the NetCentre so looks like we have a winner!

    Thanks again

The benefit of the Linkstation is that you can easily open it up (software wise), and then it becomes just another 'PC'. For instance, I also run SlimServer on it for my Squeezebox.
