Hi Everyone, Ive had a lacie network space for 3 months and it is rubbish. It doesnt pick up any of my HD mt2s/mp4 videos (8 gig plus per movie) on the ps3 despite several media rescans and rebuilds. Lacie have stopped giving firmware updates or any accessabilty or modifications making it a useless black brick :(

Im going to buy a new 1-2tb NAS drive (Buffalo?).

Please can someone advice me on a NAS that will recognise my HD movie collection mt2s/mp4/AVHD and low rez DIVX/AVI on the PS3 and offer some accessabilty of options and updates?

I just dont want to buy another NAS drive that just wont do the job.

Im lazy and dont want to have the PC on in order to watch a movie! otherwise id use ps3 media server :)

thanks

I gave up on my LaCie Network drive sometime ago. It just isn't a NAS depsite what the manufacturer blurb says it is. Personally I switched to a QNAP 409 and a couple of 1.5TB HDDs. I will add more as funds present themselves. I should be clear that I don't use my NAS to stream to my PS3 as I use a PCH but so far the NAS has been absolutely solid. Music, video and pictures are permanently available to any client in my house. I'm soon adding ceiling speakers and Squeezeboxes for multiroom audio.

How does it cope with multiclient requests? Can it handle say 2 or 3 HD streams to different clients at the same time?

I am yet to test it TBH. It's only me and my girlfriend at home and she has little or no interest in how it all works. I'd be interested to see the results so I'll probably do some tests in the next week or so.
