Please, please, please, I need some help with setting up & understanding my network.

I have a iMac, Vaio laptop, Oppo 93 Networking blu-ray player & Onkyo 5008 receiver.

I'm very new to the Mac so this could be my problem. I have MKV files that will play from a hard drive through my Oppo fine.

As soon as I try & stream them from my mac using twonky these files will not play & Oppo says invalid file.

I can stream AVI's no problem just Can't do MKV's.

I'm at my wits end and need some help. Other people can stream MKV's to the Oppo but for some reason I can't.

If anyone has the time could you please advise me on what I'm doing wrong.

Please, I'm going crazy, if I need to spend money and buy a NAS drive that's fine but my mac is on all the time so wanted to stream from that really.

Thanks in advance

Andy

are you trying to stream via wireless ?? i suspect the MKV files to be much larger than AVI.
I would still suggest a NAS for the long haul :smashin:

i have to say im to very up with macs either but i cant see why it would make a difference as the oppo doing all the decoding.

Any advice please or offers of help

Please, these files play fine via a USB drive which is attached to the Oppo.

They just won't stream, someone must be able to help.
