    About to buy this STB.

Can someone advise as to the differences between the Netgem i-Player from Netgem and the BT rebranded version apart from the card slot (which i don't need anyway).

Is there a disadvantage to getting the BT version?

    Thanks again.

Other than the card slot there's no physical difference. However they do use different firmware. At the moment you can download the latest beta version of the firmware via the Netgem forums but this only works with Netgem players, not BT ones.

I expect that Netgem's agreement with BT probably guarantees that any new firmware update will be available for both boxes though, so this shouldn't make a difference to you unless you like road-testing betas.
