check the manual - usually usb dongles only work on PC's as you need drivers and software to make them work and a NAS will not allow you to install such things. chances are that USN on your NAS is for a usb harddrive/ memory stick.

Agreed...............

Only used for additional storage/backup and commonly printer facilities..........

Have you got problems with wiring distances etc............?

Homplugs.........?

What is the reason to drop wired?

Bottom-line wireless will never beat wired. Unless a router is right next to the NAS you will never achieve anywhere near the quoted speeds wireless states.
Personally a bad move.

Wireless is for everything mobile. Smart phones and lap tops.

Main reason is to reduce clutter from main cables, hence trying replace equipment with wireless versions. It is a nice to have but not important.

Just don't bother. Consider this:

In a Wi-Fi LAN only one thing at a time can transmit.

To transfer data from NAS to say, a laptop, it would have to take one hop from NAS to your router, wait for the airwaves to go quiet, then take a second hop from router to PC.

Thusly, the data has to transit the wifi link twice and both transmissions cannot occur at the same time. So your streaming rate will be halved (or worse.)
