Lol. I just accidentally watched the first 20 mins of episode 1 season 1 (for some reason Netflix bumped me back to the start from the ‘watch season 3’ button). Kept wondering when the Russian scientists were going to appear... o_O:confused:

Problem solved now thankfully! One hell of a picture so far.

      Thanks for the review Cas.

Glad Netflix has produced something decent in quality as there has been a fair bit of “Cas can’t claim these hours of wasted life back” recently.

      Looking forward to this!

we found ourselves at home all day today so we burned through the whole thing. It's like an 8 hour film, the way it flows completely sucks you in. We didn't even look for a reason to stop watching.
There's the usual nods, homages and references to films and TV shows that are fun to spot, some really good scene transitions and other things that are the icing on the cake, but it's the overall story that just does the business. For me, it's the best one yet. If you've never watched any Stranger Things (if that person exists) then it's worth starting at season one just to get to this one.

Great picture but shame it's not Dolby Atmos for that killer surround sound. I think they missed a trick here:facepalm:

I liked the Gremlins references in episode 1 (wouldn't have noticed but recently watched Gremlins with my daughter)

Though you have to wonder how many people have Atmos speakers in their home. Something of a niche market when many don't even have 5.1 set up. Would be interesting to know how many Netflix users have Atmos.

Wow. Netflix really can do without ad breaks with so much in-show stuff. I'm sure Winona priced up the same Tampax box 4 times before moving on; whilst weirdly, the Sheriff was trying to hit on her - take a hint bro.

So, does the sneak peak ending after some credits hint at
Hopper could be alive..? Let's hope so.

I reeled in all 8 episodes like picking up a handful of chappattis and dipping them into a hot Chicken Tikka Masala on a hot 42c summer's day. That's the way I roll with Stranger Things.

I've not watched ANY of Stranger Things.... I sat and did a little 5 mins of the first episode of series 3... Wow... Those are some great production values... If only it was cold and wet outside I'd do a heavy hit on them... However, at the moment, it's outside and finish building the BBQ time...

Did 4 episodes last night and ended up dreaming I was in an alternative Stranger Things world.
Thoroughly enjoyed it so far and it still looks great in the pov spec HDR10 too :)

in a way we have it too good, getting the whole series in one go..might be more exciting to release a few episodes a week to prolong the torture/excitement probably not a popular view but as i said we get everything at once

a minority view, but one I think that is being given more airtime from what I can tell.

The issue with series dumps are that for better series, the moment passes very quickly, and you dont get the more drawn out conversation or slow build excitement that you do when something is drip fed week by week. GoT or other such big hits would have had a very different life if they'd been dumped in one go on one day once every 12-18 months.

I'm happy watching simple disposable stuff in one go, but for better things (not sure of Stranger Things really qualifies, fun though it is) I think the distribution companies would be better off doing the one a week. Can you imagine if the Sopranos had been dumped on one day? And even for current examples, Big Little Lies benefits from the once a week release.

Personally, I prefer series dumps. That way it's entirely up to me if I want to watch it all in one go or spread it out. Nobody's forced to binge watch a show, the viewer has the control of how and when they choose to watch it. Me, I just find it easier to keep track of everything that's going on in a story if I'm focused on doing it all in a binge. I prefer to treat some TV seasons like long films. I don't mind weeklies but not for everything.
Probably the best example, for me, has been re-watches of seasons of 24. I've always got more out of a binge of a boxset than a weekly drip feed and that's entirely because it's wrapped up before I forget the ins and outs of the plot

Loved it and will watch again . Binged over 2
Nights 4 + 4 . Im not sure it’s the best one but in my opinion 8 episodes was not enough . It felt like the last episode was rushed and crammed too much in all at once . But maybe that’s me and was better for it to be Intense as it was .

But still loved it though . Can’t wait for series 4 hope we don’t have to wait as long .

After the end credits though !

Is it just me that is not really feeling this season then? Some of it is really good but the 'comedy' side of it is just a bit off, especially the Hopper/Joyce bickering and her constant bewildered face. The teen boys vs girls stuff got rather tedious too.

I've only watched the first two episodes but love it so far.
I like the way they eased into the story with lots of focus on the everyday stuff... although the first couple of minutes from ep 1 are far from "everyday".

It's looking glorious in DV too, all those 80s colours popping!
