Kind of feel sorry for Aniston. She showed her talent as a natural comedienne in Friends, but since then she's mainly been designated to playing a tart in mediocre, raunchy comedies...

      It's funny, isn't it?

Acting is such a tough profession to break into and earn a living from, and it's so precarious as you never know when the next job is coming, so I kind of understand why anyone would just take whatever they're offered.

But both Sandler and Aniston just seem to accept any old crap, as if they have no personal cachet or value as artists. Maybe they've never forgotten the struggling, penniless years (being generous here), or they're happy just to take the money and run for minimal effort (being harsh).

      Really bad..
All I can say that the 1 hour 30 mins of your life you will never get back.
They all did for the money, free holiday to Monaco and a director that rather lick himself then produce anything decent.

You would have liked something decent, maybe 5 or 6...but this is 2 at best.
Guess that is what you get with a one dimensional leads... they can't do anything else.

      :D

A brave man reviews a Adam Sandler film.

South Park Awesom-o Season 8 episode 2 tells you all you will ever need to know about a Adam Sandler film without even having to review it.

Here is the thing if you have a really bad film bringing in Adam Sandler could fix it. Think the bad Batman movies or Godzilla King of Monsters or any super hero movie film that has gone astray. Basically there is a old theory it will be so bad it will be good to watch - cult genius film on your hands.

Sandler and Aniston...I would rather sweep my house with a toothbrush than watch anything from these two.

I’ve ten minutes of Adam Sandler once and that was enough for me to avoid everything he’s ever down before or after.

Aniston though. Is it strange I find her far more attractive nowadays than when she was in Friends? Not enough to risk watching a Sandler film of course though!

Aniston doesn't even need to money.

Gets paid 10's of millions for Friends. Earns more than her entire income AFTER Friends with royalty fees, and she chooses crap like this. SMH.

Your not being harsh. She's being lazy.

Not strange. I think exactly the same. She just comes across as more 'womanly' now.

Adam Sandler is one of the richest actors in Hollywood, I'm sure his not starving for scraps. There is no excuse for him to release utter trash over the years when he has plenty of money ands runs his own film production. To think his got more money than actors like Di Caprio, Christian Bale, Jake Gylennehall etc; who keep coming back with quality films time and time again.

Agreed! I watched the half of the trailer because I didn't want it to give everything away. Started off "slightly" interesting but I couldn't make through the entire movie

      Errrr.... I quite liked it.
OK, so it is hardly memorable, and the plot is a farce, but I did laugh out loud on occasion.
Rainy Sunday afternoon movie for me.

I managed a solid 25-30 minutes. A couple of titters near the beginning, but not a proper laugh in sight. I would have been better off watching one of the bad foreign language Netflix Originals.
Still, the main reason I watched this was to stop me gorging too much on Good Omens. So job done I think.

Thats a bit harsh as he’s made some really good movies like Punch Drunk Love, Spanglish and Reign Over Me.

So I watched this tonight as I was in the mood for something a bit lighthearted. It was as expected, the trailer gave most of the story away which was unfortunate and you knew where the gags were going to crop up but there were a few extra laughs that were dotted throughout the movie.

I think Sandler and Aniston were doing what they always do so there's nothing new to see and I never believed they were a married couple as she is way out of his league. Having said that they do work quite well together as a comedy duo.

I think the supporting cast were all hamming it up with the exception of Luke Evans who wasn't as over the top as some of the others.

A special mention to Gemma Arterton who does have some funny scenes and who looks absolutely stunning throughout with all the costume changes. But then again I am biased as she's a local girl (we went to the same college).

I thought it was fine. Low expectations as I'm not the world's greatest Adam Sandler fan but he was fairly reined in for this. He worked well with JA too and they made a fun duo. The story was entertaining enough and if you want something undemanding during your Sunday night "iron in front of the telly" then you could do worse.

I've never really enjoyed any of Sandlers movies, but Jennifer Aniston? Come on girl, you can do a damn site better than this manure

Jennifer Aniston hardly has form for sold acting. She is know for a pretty face in a middle of the road American sitcom, dating Brad Pitt and middle of road American dross films.

      And yet she's made millions!

Funny how we're constantly told that the cream will always rise to the top, but the reality suggests something entirely different.

I guess there’s also such a thing as being in the right place at the right time. Like it or not (which I am of the former) Friends was a huge part of the 90s zeitgeist. That popularity has meant the cast should be set for life - none have done anything truly notable before or after but they were perfect for the show.

Then you get someone like Guy Pearce who at the time of Neighbours you would never of guessed would in the future play some pretty good roles in decent films.

I guess he is more of a exception than the norm.

My wife is recovering from a major abdominal operation at the moment - mostly in bed watching TV. She has to avoid anything that's in any way funny though, because laughing is extremely painful.

She's just finished this, and I'm informed it presented no issues whatsoever.

5/10 from me. Mostly watched it for the Dolby Vision shots of the Med on my new TV (which were very nice), though it was mildly entertaining at times. Bit shocking how they largely wasted Luke Evans and Gemma Arterton, and definitely wasted David Walliams (why was he even in it?!). I guess its not just Sandler and Aniston who fancied a paid holiday.

I saw it, and thought exactly this, a holiday on the riviera for the cast & family, with added bonus for Jen, drive a testarossa (though a fake, im sure, by the way she smashes it up)
btw, didnt they get a holiday last year in a film set in africa...
