I have the Panasonic 802B 4K television, and I use it to watch Netflix.

I also have Virgin Media's V6 box, with which of course, I can access Netflix.

Now here is the thing:

On the 802B, watching Star Trek Next Gen, it plays in HD but in a squared format, but if I use the V6 box it fills the (wide)screen which is preferable for me.

Is there a setting on the Panasonic TV that will make the Netflix broadcast widescreen the same as presented through the V6 box?

Netflix usually plays content in its correct aspect ratio.
STNG was filmed in 4:3 which is the correct ratio that your tv is displaying correctly.
Your V6 box is falsely stretching the 4:3 picture into fatty vision.
You should just marvel STNG in all it's 4:3 HD glory.
