Have this installed and is currenctly using 1100mb on my hard drive.

Why is this streaming app so big when the IGN app is just over 100mb ?

Is the Netflix app reserving space for caching on the hard drive ?

    Sorry if raised elsewhere.

Must be reserving space for a cache. Can't think of any other logical reason.

Edit: Just checked - the app is an 18 Mb download.

I've been watching Netflix through my Xbox One, tried the PS4 for the first time the other night, terrible audio sync problems. Think I'll stick with playing it through the One, much better.

Yes and no. It is telling us that neither is a great media player right now, but that's not really anything we didn't know in November. It's all fixable with system updates.

It will be a more interesting comparison in 6 months time.

Does Anybody else keep losing connection to Netflix on there ps4?
What ever i watch starts ok, then get an error message saying its lost connection to the server after 10 mins.
    It does it every time.
I'm wired to a gigabit switch and have a static ip address set so i can Dmz my ps4 in my router settings.

I'm not sure if its my ps4 disconnecting as i haven't had a trouble free night on Battlefield yet:rotfl:

I use netflix on ps4 all the time. Don't have any audio sync issues and like how it plays straight away (albeit a bit low res initially due to my connection). I have noticed it going a bit jerky at times though as I guess it looks to skip frames instead of buffering.

Mine has improved now on PS4, happy enough with it now. Don't seem to be experiencing any problems which is good.

Anyone know if there's a way to stop the dualshock 4 disconnect notification from popping up?

My disconnections are better but my center speaker(dialogue mainly ) is being mixed into the front sides on 5.1 sound tracks.
Dvd and blu-ray plays fine and Netflix on my wdtv plays correctly.
My amp has all 6 channels lit up via bit streamed optical connection.
Im sure there's a thread somewhere on here with similar issues.

Is your amp processing the audio as a pseudo surround effect?

As far as i know, Netflix still doesn't support 5.1 mixes over optical on the PS4 version.

If you check the audio output(press R3), then it should show only a 2.0 stereo soundtrack, and the only available audio options for all content, including HD, should be 2.0 stereo.

While watching House of Cards on Netflix last night, I'd reached the end of the episode when I tried to close the application down & couldn't. The controller & console had locked, I proceeded to switch it off at the mains which is not recommended.
    Anyone else experienced this?

    possibly.
Although my amp detects a dolby 5.1 track and shows it outputting DD5.1
    I hadn't thought to check the rears.
I realized something wasn't right as i was using my turtle beach px5's(that also detected a DD 5.1 track) that sounded better with the DD headphone feature turned off.
Turning up the volume on my amp showed the center was indeed not working.

As long as its something there end thats going to be tweeked then its easy enough to use my wdtv for now.

I've done the Netflix trial and I was watching a foreign language film and was just wondering. . . can people see what movie you're watching? Like if my friend came on. . could he see what movie i'm watching? Could we party chat while watching the same movie?

I won't be trying the streaming apps out until there's a remote I can use, if there not going to release one at least let me use the one from the PS3!

Netflix lasted a month with me and has gone the same way as Prime Instant Video. . . Both cancelled.

Truly appalling services. Awful movies. Why would you subscribe to these lol. They're baffling. 85% of the movies are gash/old/crap and ones you haven't even heard of!

Shame as I just ordered 152mb internet lol so I really needed a good streaming app to make the most of it haha

For £5.99 it's not bad but the content is very limited and very old.

    It's great if you've never seen many TV shows and films and you really do get the opportunity to catch up on classics like Prison break, 24, Wire, Breaking bad etc;

Sky still has the better exclusivity sadly.

I have managed to get HDMI-CEC working to use my TV remote for the PS4 but there is no support in either Netflix or iPlayer.

Seems like a major drop-off and surely wouldn't be too hard to add?

Hmm just noticed that a Netflix update was installed today. I can now pause videos in netflix using my TV remote. I also seem to be able to rewind and fast forward but can not go back to the netflix main menu.
