I recently hads UPVC windows installed in the garage at the bottom of our garden. This was to increase security and keep my insurance broker happy.

Yesterday my wife asked me to put up some hooks around the frames for a curtain wire. Then she put up net curtains. Why?

Perhaps she doesn't want her friends to see your lawn mower through the window?

So that would be thieves can't preview the stock before breaking in. Makes sense to me, providing you don't get designer nets :)

Perhaps she wants the place more homely, ready for when she has a barny, stating that you spend too much time on that website for nerds...as she suggests you live in the garage for a week.....:)

I'm also a bit confused, nobody likes net curtains, they're just a necessity of ground-floor living. :)

I've really cut back on my time on the forums as of late.

    All IT guys nerds? Never!

If you work in IT and keep goats does that make you a goat nerd?

As for the curtains, I understand the logic of obscuring the windows from the view of the light fingered. But the fact that she spent a lot on quality net material, cut it to size, hemmed it and did other things that are just outside of most blokes comprehension, was a little worrying.

Bit like you Mum doing the house work before you went on holiday.

Hate Net Curtains but as already said there essential for ground floor living in many areas of the uk.

Accidentally ripped one of mine down on saturday. Had to go net curtain shopping yesterday :suicide:

Managed to find a plain one without any horrible flowery patterns on and it was cheap less than a tenner for 4m width and regular drop :)

my parents have a holiday cottage and had a garage built (its as big as the cottage) but it has a big window in the gable end so to obscure views into the garage we used some left over insulation lining used on the roof Perfect, also VAN window Tint is good seen that used a few times but actual net curtains well you must have a a very tidy garage
