I've been happily using Nero 7 for a while. I use Nerovision to burn videos to DVD. I create a simple menu and then encode and burn to the hard drive of my PC, then to a DVD+RW at a later date.

Problem is I've started getting random sound sync issues. Sometime this willaffect all video material encoded and burnt, sometimes just some. I'm running the latest version of Nero so I can't just upgrade. I've tried searching through the knowledge base on the Nero website, but it's lousy and has no relevant details.

I haven't had the fault duplicated on my laptop, so perhaps it's my PC hardware? But if this were so, why should the fault slowly develop and not manifest itself from the first.

Running a fully up to date XP Professional box with a P4 processor. Only got half gig of RAM though.

Any clues or similar problems out there?

    Thanks,

    XoD

    Possibly the DVD burner......

I had a similar problem a while back, started off as you describe and ended up with the DVD writer packing up altogether. :(

Got a new one and no probs since. :smashin:

bung another harddisk in and try a fresh build of XP and Nero see if that works, if it does rebuild your main disk

I always get Nero to burn to a folder on the hard drive.

I then test the contents of this folder using Nero ShowTime and Cyberlink to see if there is a sync issue. The contents being a subfolder (Video_TS) containing the vob and ifo files etc.

Therefore, it is not the burner or the media (QED)

This places the problem on the hardware or the Nero software itself.

doesn't directly answer your problem but try you should "ConvertXtoDVD" by a french company called VSO. Fantastic cheap app that converts and burns about 3x faster than Nerovision :smashin:

Output quality is superb and i'm yet to find a format it won't convert. menu's are stupidly simple to create
