I find it amazing that we all own hand-held, portable games systems and yet it is so difficult to get power adaptors in UK stores to allow us to travel round the world with them!

I have managed to find universal adaptors on e-bay such as this:
    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Nintendo-DS-NDS-Lite-Universal-AC-Power-Adapter-Charger_W0QQitemZ180067763685QQihZ008QQcategoryZ91509QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

However what I don't know is what the quality of these non official units are like and how stable the current is etc.. i.e. I don't want to kill my DS battery after a couple of charges. There must be others that have sourced universal adaptors so where have you got them from and have you had any problems with them?

    Any advice gratefully received :)

if you're going to the USA, can't you just buy an official one when you get there? or do as i did and got one of them battery packs, which use AAA batteries to charge (possibly cheaper and easier route to take, plus you can use it in the UK also!

When I was in Japan I just bought a second hand charger, cost me equivalent of about 5 quid.
