Need to post boxful of DVDs - anyone know how many 61 weigh in a box?

I've got nothing to weigh them at home and need a quote for the couriers.

Is there an easy way to work it all out?

Cheers.

Assuming they are single disc versions it will be about 100 grams per DVD, extra DVDs booklets etc will add weight.

It will vary slightly due to different DVD case manufacturers and types.

So 6.1kg as a minimum just for the DVDs

Some are double disc cases with inserts, I was thinking of 12kg all together as a rough guide.

A quick check with Red Dwarf S6 and a double DVD without booklet is 134 grams, with the booklet is 156.

Those figures are for a double DVD case with a leaf type holder not the face on face case which would be lighter.

12kgs might be a bit on the high side unless your packaging is somewhat heavy but it's better to overestimate than underestimate the weight.

Is there a big difference in the courier price between different weights?

I'll get the postage back so it's not too bad if it's on the high side.

Do you not have any bathroom scales?

If you do, just weigh yourself holding the box and without it.
