Hi I have the PW7 42" panny plasma..... any way all my component cables came threw this morning for all my game consoles, xbox, gamecube, PS2,

I orderd with my plasma a dual slot terminal board as I was told it would allow me to use component, which is now fully fitted to my plasma

I have just tried to fit 1 of my component cables in to the back of the dual slot terminal board, and I noticed that there are only 4 ports

    2 red
    2 white

I am a bit confused as I thought red and white was for audio connection, and the colours red blue and green was component.

have I orderd the wrong board or do you no how I am ment to connect the component cable.

thanks to any 1 who helps me out !

    cheers mate !

It sounds like the wrong board, you have composite inputs as opposed to component which as you quite rightly say are red, blue and green plugs.

I havent got a clue wot my actual board is called but as far as I no its adual slot board.

has many of these metal towers with these pins sticking out.

I take it all i need to do is buy those adapters you game me a link to hornydragon and all should be ok ??

that BNC adapter wont effect the Quality of my component connection will they as I have just bought a ixos component cable from tvcabels.com

If you bought the Dual Slot Terminal Board include in the package from AV sales then it should have BNC connectors, so as Hornydragon says, sounds like you just have to add the adaptors to the end of your RCA lead.

I take your point that if you spend a small fortune on a quality lead, you don't want to put a cheap connection adaptor on the end and lose quality. AV sales will make up a BNC/RCA lead for you, if you could take your current one back...otherwise get yourself to Maplin, you must be itching to get connected !!!

By the way, I'm a Newbie, so I know very little about all this !

    Cheers.

if you only have the two red and whites its not the component board. Did you get the sticker with the board that you stick to the back of the screen above the slots you use and indicates what each input is for? Also how many slots does your board use...the dual slot component board takes 2 slots and is referenced TY-42TM6YB Component SVHS Composite (Dual Slot BNC

my dual slot board takes up 2 slots mate, think its prety certian now I have the BNC Component/SVHS/Composite Dual Slot Terminal Board.

there seems to quit alot of those towers with the pins on, does this mean I might be able to attach more than 1 component cable ??

got told by ben at AV-sales that this board was the only thing I would need to buy.

a local shop I have just phoned "southport hi fi" said they have the adapters but they are silver >> I take it gold is much better than silver ???

thanks for all yoru help guys !

I'm pretty sure only the last three on the right, as you look from the back can be used for component......I would try the silver if you can get them quick...it's not going to break the bank if you have to spend another £6 on gold next week :)

Silver should be fine mate the Dual slot board has BNC's for RGBHV or component YUV so ther will 5 BNC connections... you only need to use 3 the ones labelled Red, Green and Blue.

just got back form my local shop and I bought the BNC adapters, which pin towers would I connect for component there are so many of them.

does it matter were each 1 goes, my terminal board manual is gay and doest give any information on were they go.

some one above metioned to put them on the last 3, is there a certian colour order they need to go on like with most components >>> green 2 green blue 2 blue etc. ??
