    hi,

I've got a surround sound system and it has 1 optical port. but i've got to thing to connect to it via optical cable. is there a small device that let me expand that 1 port into 2. they won't ever be used at the same time i just don't want to be switching between the two cables all the time.

if that makes any sense you help would be nice. Also if such a thing does exist where would i be able to get one?

There is a combiner/splitter available from Richer Sounds I think, it's a Y cable. If not, perhaps Micro Direct in Manchester can help. I know I've seen one, somewhere...

B&Q sells the two into one optical block for £6.99
You will find them near where they sell the remotes and telephone extentions etc.
However, others have posted that these combiners can be had even cheaper!;)

    Hows about a remote controlled one? - B-Tech BTZ-42

Retails around the £70 mark. I might try one when I get paid (I too am in need of a few extra optical sockets), looks like a nice bit of kit...

    Anyone tried one?
