Due to space I need book shelf size speakers, and was thinking of Monitor Audio Silver RS 1s @ £350, which is about as much as I want to spend really.

These will work with the Monitor Audio CC750 centre speaker and Monitor Audio Silver 3 rears, and my Velodyne CHT subwoofer.

I'm running an old Denon 2700 surround amp which does it's job well, for me anyway.

I haven't been reading up on any speaker reviews for a number of years so am not too sure of what is good and what isn't.

Any other book shelf size speakers that I should think about or will the MA RS 1s be alright?

Are there any speakers which work as well if they are bi-wired or not which will fit my budget?

    Thanks

    :)
Or you could go for a couple of Polk LSI9 which have an excellent overall performance (have not heard the RS1 yet though).

Try to audition anyway before taking your decision !

If you can still find them, the outgoing MA Silver S series are (I believe) acoustically identical and a real bargain at the moment. The RS "upgrade" is in styling only.

Thanks for the replies. The Sevenoaks stockclearence link is a good find.
Never knew it existed, but it's a shame they don't have the finish I want.
Will look on ebay and see what i can find.

Sevenoaks Bristol do have some window display S2s but they are in Beech wood veneer. Any idea what this looks like?
Can't seem to find any on ebay. Perhaps I'm not typing in the correct details?
    Anyone have any better luck?
