so im needing another two sata ports.

available ports are..

1 x pci-e 4x slot
2x pci-e 1x slot
2 x pci slots.

anyone use any expansion cards for extra sata's ports and have any recommendations..

ideally it would be nice for them to run at the 6gb/s speed.

funny enough its the brand you have said..

Yes that the same one that I had.

I had the same problem I only had 6 sata ports on the motherboard which I was using for my SDD's/hard drives at the time.

So I was forced to use the card for my two optical drives.

I would check the manual for your motherboard first to confirm that you do not lose any sata ports if you use a pci-e 4x or 1x slot. You should be OK for 1x slot.

i see nothing in the online manual about losing sata ports if using the pcie slots.

so should be ok.

If you are still looking this card is PCI and has worked fine for me over a couple of years with Win10.

hey thanks for the reply.

i think il futureproof myself a little by going with a pci-e card.
incase my next motherboard turns out not to have pci slots.

thanks for the post and link :)

If you are still looking I've been using this one for over a year without problems.
PCI-E card and has 2 ports without using a driver or 4 ports when using driver.

Some of the old Dell 9211-4i server cards that come up on ebay are rock solid. As long as they are flashed in IT mode. You just need a mini sas forward breakout cable and you're good to go. Total cost would be around 50 quid. Far more reliable than some of the cheap Chinese tat floating about on amazon.
