So let me preface this by saying my level of knowledge past a 5 channel surround sound system is very limited.

Anyway, we just bought a house that was previously wired with speakers in every room. We are looking to use just a few of the sets for the kitchen, deck and den. From what I understand, I will need a multichannel amplifier to do this.

A few questions I have from here that I can't seem to find the answer to.

How do you connect the receiver to the amp? Speaker wire? The cheaper amps ($150 or less) that I've seen only seem to have input and outputs for speaker wire.

Can I get by with a cheapo 100-150 dollar, non-powered amp?

Lastly, a friend said he will sell me his Pioneer sc-65 receiver for $150. I don't know if this will work (I'll include pics of the back). It's all just confusing inputs to me. One bad thing is that the receiver doesn't have bluetooth (basically all we want the speakers for is to play pandora from our phones) and it doesn't have a RF remote, so that means more crap I'd have to buy.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
