    Hello,
    my amp will be
    http://www.pioneer-eur.com/eur/product_detail.jsp?product_id=3769&taxonomy_id=62-98
and i can't decide on which speakers to buy.
    I have 2 options:
    1- http://www.kef.com/KHT/KHT1005/home.htm
    2- http://www.athenaspeakers.com/micra6SystemSpeakers.htm

I want a small size 5.1 speaker system and i like them both (they are small and i like there style) and they cost the same but i will not be able to listen to them on a room that is similar to mine. I will use them for tv/movies.

The athena speakers includes the wall mouting supports, kef does not.

What do you all say? Which will sound better?

    Thanks.

P.S-Sorry for my english, but i'm from portugal.

The KEF speakers seem well liked in UK but unfortunately I have never heard of Athena speakers. I checked their website and they do seem to be distributed in UK but I have never seen a magazine review or advertisement or seem them mentioned in this forum.

Richer sold a couple of Athena types back when I was in their employ. I remember them being well built with cracking bass response (the whole sonic package wasn't bad but this bit always stood out) but they weren't lookers by any stretch of the imagination. I have no idea who's selling them now though.

My vote goes for Kef 1005.
Very good references everywhere. Prepare extra 150€ to 200€ for a good set of stands.

Does the VSX-D812 support variable xover? If not this is not the receiver for the Kef eggs.

The whole Athena line is truly fabulous. They're made by API (Mirage, Energy) Well worth tracking an audition down.
