    Hello,

I am trying to connect my PS3 to my PC (using ethernet cable), however am getting following error message in the PS3's Internet Connection settings test :

    Internet Connection failed

"An error occured during communicatiob with the server"
"This is a DNS Error 80710102".

Hope this makes sense, any help would be much appreciated ( I have an Xbox360 connected to my Broadband, this works fine )

    Thanks

You have any joy in fixing this? I have the same problem.

On the 360, I just change the MAC address to match my PC and it works no problems - but I can't see that option on PS3

Why not just get a router. They aren't that expensive and make connecting easier and more convenient.

Are you using a USB modem then ? I thought Bulldog provided a router.

The thing with Bulldog is that they are not a normal ADSL provider like BT for example. They are an LLU service ( Local Loop Unbundling ). I think they may use ADSL2+. If they do then you will need to make sure the router you get is ADSL2+ compatible as not all of them are. Probably best to check with their customer service or better still other Bulldog users as to what router to get.

Ofcourse I could be mistaken and they may be using normal ADSL in which case any ADSL router with modem will work. Like the Netgear DG834 (wired only ) or Netgear DG834G ( wireless and wired ). Those are pretty good routers and easy to set up.
