I think your PSP has to be version 1.0 and most have been upgraded by now.

You need a Wireless access point. Not a Wireless Network card.

on this website www.ballofodd.co.uk it says Here is a brief guide and links to tell how to let you play psp with games over the internet and its all free.

WARNING this doesnt work if you have a router!

    STEP : you will need

    A PC
with a wi-fi card that is compatible (i bought 1 from the list)
An internet connection (this requires that your wi-fi card is not used to connect you to a router which in turn connects you to the internet- cards cant do two things at once)

that site is rubbish ;-) - actually its mine, nice to see someone is still looking, ive kind of been superseeded by the better sites now.

i havent looked at xlinkkai for a while but from my previous endeavours i was sure that you could only use Kai with a wireless network card - you need that to connect to the psp and then another lan card in the same machine (not wireless) to connect to your internet connection. This is because the psp will only work with the wireless card in ad-hoc (computer to computer) mode and the other network card is used to pick up the connection to the outside world.

so you can technically use it with an access point i.e laptop with wireless and wired network adapters with the latter plugged into the router/acces point.

    hope that helps....

ah sorry, its looks like i have completely ignored your post and gone on a rant.

i will look into this and see if i can find the answer (as i dont know)

it is in ad-hoc mode and broadcasting a connection right?

kai diagnostics said my psp was configured properly but when i try and join the rooms my psp still says searching for multiplayer games. But I havnt been able to test it alot cos hardly any1 is playing.

Do i need a wireless router to browse the net like it says on your website?

Is an access point a wireless router?
