I am moving into a new rental home for a couple years and the house is wired for 5.1 surround sound. The two back speakers are on the ceiling, and the three front are on the wall (two on top left and right, and center is low where the entertainment center will be). Currently, there are simple face plates filling the spots where the wires are in.

I don't want to spend a lot of money. So, I need help identifying a decent, but lower priced set, of speakers and mounts to buy and install. I DO NOT want one that I have to cut into the wall to install. So, they would have to be small enough to screw in. I also already own a base box for the .1.

Any and all help is appreciated. I own a receiver, but my previous speakers were free standing.

    Thanks in advance!!

For example, one of the brackets I was looking at was the ones at Best Buy, SKU 1311077620. But they are expensive and are approximately $45 per mount. I don't mind buying cheaper.

Decent and Low Priced is a tricky combination!

There are budget 5.1 speaker systems with simple 'key hole' style wall mounts included in the system.

Knowing your room dimensions and layout, AVR model and Sub model would be helpful.

Joe, I can't swing out there today. The rough estimates are:

20X20 and open to the kitchen and hallways. The ceiling mounts are in the back, and the front L and R mounts are at the top of the wall near the ceiling. My sub is pretty good, I just don't have it because it's literally in transit from DC to Texas. Consider it mid-range.

    Does that help?
