SP/LP players can detrec the speed automaticaly!
    Try the usual places online
    Empiredirect
    qed-uk
    unbeatable
    etc etc etc
Sony are good but expensive, aiwa cheap and ok Panasonic pretty good, stay away from really cheap no-name brands. LG do some nice combi sets and i think a 17" so do thomson have a look around and use pricerunner.co.uk to check for better deals

OK so what happens if you put a SP video in to a video player that only plays LP?

Will it mess up, i'm not quite sure.

    SP means normal speed
LP (long-play) means half-speed, so you can fit ~320-360 mins onto a 180 min tape

If you put a SP (ie rental video) into a VCR with LP, it'll work- as Long Play VCR's will obviously play normal speed tapes.

2 tuners are essential. Buying this kit with one tuner is a mistake you only make once.....

If SP videos can play in LP TV/combis what is the point in paying more for for TV/combis which play in SP.

Surely would'nt it be better to buy a LP TV/combi which is cheaper.

Or if i have misundestood previous replies what happens if the SP video goes in the LP video, can the LP video play the SP video if the TV/Combi only plays in LP

Has anyone got anymore ideas where i can buy from the UK TV/Video combi which play SP and LP with twin tuners?

    Thanks for replying

As above comment. Playing a SP (rented) tape in a VCR which supports LP will work.

SP has better picture quality anyway, once you slow down the tape (LP) it'll be more fuzzy.

I would buy seperate TV & VCR. Combo units are very unreliable, IMO.
