Hi I'm new too PC gaming and looking to get into it.

I'm currently buying the below from pcspecialist.co.uk

I just want to know how powerful is this PC? and can it run games like MGS5 etc at full spec at 4K? Can I also use it to watch full 4K videos and edit them? and how future proof is it?

Also will it have an Ethernet port because I chose a wireless card and of course is it worth £948, and how much would it cost if I built it myself?

Thanks!

Unfortunately not. That graphics card is nowhere near powerful enough.
I'm afraid for 4K full spec gaming you are probably looking at spending £2K on a PC, at least.

Please do not buy that PC. You are pairing a powerful CPU with a low end graphics card, and a very low spec PSU - the equivalent of putting a noisy exhaust on a Vauxhall Nova.
If you want to play full spec 4k gaming (that is high/ultra graphics at 60 fps), then you need to have 2 980 gfx cards, which are £500 each, and at least a 800W PSU.

Ok so I just changed the following:

Processor (CPU) - Intel® Core™i5 Quad Core Processor i5-6600K (3.5GHz) 6MB Cache

Graphics Card -
4GB NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 960 - DVI, HDMI, 3 DP - 3D Vision Ready
down_right_arrow.gif
Free Item: FREE METAL GEAR SOLID game with select GTX 9 Series GPUs! -Subject to T&Cs

Power Supply - CORSAIR 450W VS SERIES™ VS-450 POWER SUPPLY

Price: £952.00

is that any better? the graphics card come with MGS5!
if i wont be able to run it at 4K can I at least run it at 1080p?

Thanks.

Do you really need a Blu-Ray writer drive? Also could you trim your HDD down to 1TB and maybe squeeze a SSD in the mix?

Great suggestion.

There's no need for 16GB RAM either, so have a look at that thread linked by Chalky.

Thanks again for the replies.

Based on the post by Cha1ky I have come up with the below as its the closet:

Is that any better?

If it’s not too much trouble can you guys build me a PC on pcspecialist.co.uk with the best possible performance for around a £1000? I would appreciate it a lot because quite frankly I have no idea what I’m doing.

Thanks.

Does it have to be through PC Specialist or can you buy from elsewhere?

Would you be willing to build yourself or need a company to do it for you?

Just to chip in. Change that case. Its a bit of a cheapo, (not even front USB 3.0) to put all that nice gear into. The NZXT S340 MID TOWER GAMING CASE (on their page) or even pushing to the Fractal R5 would be much better choices (better airflow, future proofing and generally better designs). Just check the external physical dimensions, if that is a factor.

I'd need a company to build it for me as I have no idea how to do it myself. I'd appreciate it if you could recommended a better site.

@Joe Pineapples What benefit would I get from using that case apart from it being better looking? Because I’m not too fussed about the looks to be honest.

You looking around a budget of £1100 max then?

You do pay a premium for having a company build it for you mind mate. Prob around £100 on a £1000 build. It's not too hard to do yourself and we would always say to do that hear but I understand if you don't want to as not everyone wants to do that.

Both those cases I listed should be quieter, cooler running (helping the 970) and offer more comfortable room for expansion if you wanted to add anything later. Front USB 3.0 ports also come in handy.

@Joe Pineapples @Cha1ky

Thanks for the reply guys. Based on your feedback I've come up with the below specs.

Will I be able to play current games like GTA5 / MGS5 at 1080p 60fps?
And is it worth the money or am I being ripped off?

Thanks.

You could try these components. I used Partpicker. If you look around you could find some of the components cheaper. Only thing is you would have to build it yourself. Tbh it's easy done. Just watch some youtube build videos and if you have any problems I'm sure I - and many on this forum - will be happy to help and give advice. The important thing is to read the documentation and plan ahead. Patience is key. This would be a really kicking rig. Not GTX980Ti kicking but close - for around £300 less.

If you still prefer the idea of a pre-built system, I'd suggest looking at his one...

CCL Elite Eagle IV Gaming PC - - CCL Computers

CONS
Not Skylake
Not bluray drive
costs a bit more after adding Win10

PROS
Better suited case (1x120 fan intake, 1x120 exhaust, option for 2nd intake), USB 3.0
Better cpu cooler
Better SSD
3yrs collect & return warranty

Hope this helps.
