I need to test my skystar2 card in linux to see if its setup right. The only way i can think of doing it, being as i've received no help, is to connect it to my sky mini dish and scan for channels. in order to scan i must first entre the transponder details in the following format:

    # Astra 19.2E SDT info service transponder
    # freq pol sr fec
    S 12551500 V 22000000 5/6

    # EUTELSAT SkyPlex, Hotbird 13E
    # freq pol sr fec
    S 12539000 H 27500000 3/4

Obviously the sky dish is pointed at astra2d 28.2E Does any have the transponder infomation for that satellite?

While on the topic what is a transponder?

cheers. Yeah i know about the lyngsat site, still i haven't found anything to do with transponders on the site at all.

EDIT: if the transponders are the numbers down the side to the left of a group of channels then they do not match the format i need to use. for example the first number is only 5 digits not eight as in the examples in my initial post.

Same with the SR [Serial Rate] (22000 = 22000000)

s 10714000 H 22000000 5/6 definately does not work, it doesn't even hessitate in throwing up an error. They haven't added 3 "000" onto the astra satellite, it ends in 500.
