    Hi,

Thinking about buying a second hand LD player. it's a Pioneer 919.
    i know it's a good player....but this is a 4 year old model.

How risky is buying secondhand players? The mechanisms and lasers are pretty scary to me. If they are damged or break down..it would be pretty expensive.

Also how could I check if something is ok and not worn out.

well.. not much help.. but my pioneer 2950 is still going strong after 10 years... best bet would be to try it out before you buy!

If it was to break down then it could cost a bit as you wold have to go to a specialist to get it fixed....
