I've just purchased a pair of B&W Nautilus 802s, and want a new integrated amp to go with them. The room is about 400 square feet, mostly hardwood floors, average amount of furniture, and has two 2 meter openings to other rooms. Looking to spend $800 - $1300.

    Any suggestions?

The only problem with helping you is this is mainly a UK site so the models and prices can be different over here to where you are.

What is going to be the main use of the amp? Music or movies?

Thanks so much for your help. 95% of use is music ... blues, classical, some pop, jazz ... far more acoustic than electric music.

The 802s are Nautilus, and sell for approx. 3500 pounds.

Dfour, if you read this, the model number in the UK is same as US ... 802.

Personally I'd be looking to spend more than $1000 on an av receiver to partner the B&Ws. Given that you're in the states you're going to get better value for money (unfortunately) by buying US kit. $1.94 to the £ = Good for uk buyers bad for uk exporters!

So something like the Arcam 300 or hte 250 would be good or an intergrated/pre+power combo rotel even.

Would suggest something by Chord or Krell for that class speaker but you may struggle on your budget.

Although I got an excellent price on the 802s, I want to do them justice. If that means spending up to L1000, I'll do it.

I agree, a cheap amp will make the speakers sound dreadful. Most high end amps such as Krell etc will work well. A £1000 AV amp, I suspect will not do the B&W's justice

Thanks so much. I hear the (fiscal) music ... thanks to you all ... I'll happily spend WHATEVER is reasonable to do the 802s justice, including >L1000.

    Suggestions?
