I've been put on laptop researching duty by my girlfriend because her old one broke. I just need a bit of advice from you guys.

What is your budget?
Max £400 but around £350 would be ideal

What size laptop do you want?
Anything in the 15" range

Do you have resolution requirements?
No

Do you prefer a matte or glossy (reflective) screen?
Doesn't Matter

What will you be using the laptop for?
Browsing, watching youtube, iplayer etc, basic photo editing (like Cropping photos), possibly playing games like the original Sims

If you will be gaming, what games do you need to play?
Possibly playing games like the original Sims
How long does the battery need to last?
This isn’t a huge concern but at but min. 3 hours would be nice

Does it need to be portable?
Will mostly be used at home, so, no.

Do you require Blu-Ray?
No

Do you require HDMI output?
Would be nice but not essential

Do you have a preferred brand?
No.

Are there brands you would prefer to avoid?
Have heard Acer aren’t great so would be nice to avoid that (if that is true)

Would you be happy with a refurbished laptop?
No

Any other details you feel necessary...
At least a 2nd Generation i3 processor, 4GB RAM, integrated webcam

I have a few choices already, any comments on these?
Acer aspire 5749 (Acer Aspire 5749 Core i3-2350 4GB 500GB DVD-RW 15.6" W7HP (LX.RR702.106) - dabs.com)
Lenovo B570 (Lenovo B570 Laptop - Laptops | Ebuyer.com)

Lenovo G570 (LENOVO G570 15.6" Laptop - Gun Metal buy online | Currys)

I have heard the G570 has hinge issues, has anyone had problems with this? Otherwise, is the G570 better than the B570?

Thanks a lot for any help,

Frank
