I REALLY wanna buy a Dreamcast but my Dad won't help cos he think's they're rubbish but I love em! I love Sonic, Soul Calibur and Unreal Tournament on it. Plus I wanna get "Samba De Amigo." I first need to get some money then I'll buy a Dreamcast and get "Samba De Amigo." Any idea how much the shipping is Lik-Sang? "Samba De Amigo" looks sooooooooo cool! Much better than my sister's Dance Mat!:D

Lan-kwei? Never really heard of them. Are they good? What about their shipping costs? Plus play-asia are out of stock on Dreamcasts... :(

I've got one up in the loft that I keep meaning to stick on the classifieds. How much are they worth these days ?

And I am right in thinking that the link cable I've got is probably worth more than the console ?

    Cheers, Carl.

Usual 2nd hand price is £20-£25 depending on quality, condition, hardware problems (resetting, controller ports not working etc - of which almost all can easily be fixed)

No..er they're priceless. I'll erm give you 50p for it, mate
    :D

    They're worth about £30:eek:

Shenmue 2 usually goes for £25-£40 as well. When you consider most other games go for 99p-£5 then

I had two DC's and I wanted a good price, so I bundled it with shenmue 2 and a few others and got £80 odd.

    Thats the key mate!

Rez is another rare PAL game and usually goes for about £40+

Although why anyone would sell their dreamcast and a copy of Rez...I have no idea

Thanks guys, I'll have to go and see what I've got - there's a whole bunch of games & accessories up there - light gun, 2 modems, VGA box ... for a start.

    Cheers. Carl.

Just go to a Gamestation, or a car boot sale or market or any 2nd hand games store/electrical store and you'll find one. Gamestation almost always have them in stock (about £25) I bought a spare one last week for £22 in Cash Convertors - they had 7 DCs stacked up on top of each other in the window!

Most retailers sell them for about £25 and I've seen more than a few go for £30+ on Ebay over the last few months

I've no idea why they're so expensive...I think they're just rare. AFAIK they were never officially released in this country, although I could be wrong on that.

So I had a dig around the loft last night - couldn't find the damn VGA box, but fired it up and had a quick blat on MSR ... it's not the same as PGR2 is it :D

I'll post a proper FS thread in the classifieds this evening, but here's what I dug up (from memory) ....

DC, 33K modem, 56K modem, scart lead, RF lead, DC link cable, original VMU, 4Mb Joytech VMU, lightgun, 2x controllers & 1 rumble pack.

Software-wise, sorry no Samba or Rez :( ... MSR, F355, Sega GT (Jap), Thunder something or other (off-road racing), Crazy Taxi, HOTD2, Aerowings, QuakeIII, Soul Calibur, DOA2, and a bunch more I can't remember right now.

If you're interested, keep an eye on the classifieds this evening. Hopefully I'll have decided how much it's all worth by then

And once that's done, it'll be time to try and get rid of the Gamecube as well.

    Cheers, Carl.

There's some good stuff in there. I'll check the FS thread later

Any chance of putting my name down for the scart cable? If you decide to split, or are you selling as a bundle only?

Ok, no problem. I don't blame you wanting to sell as a whole bundle.

But, realistically, it could be very hard to find a buyer for the whole set. Your best option might be to sell what you can online and sell the rest to Gamestation (if you can't find a buyer for something on here or on Ebay, then it's probably an item that isn't worth much money or is very easy to find)

Fingers crossed it's priced low enough that it wont be a problem then ;)

Take a look in the classifieds and see what you think ...

Excellent package and a very good, reasonable asking price.

People: you'd be stupid not to buy it at that price

if you're clever, and find a poorly advertised bargain you can just buy a bundle off ebay and end up basically getting the console for free! I bought a boxed DC, 2 pads, VMU, A/V Scart lead(although didn't work:mad: ), keyboard, 15 original games for 30 quid. Sold on about 4 of the games on ebay for a total of around 20 quid. Then bought a copy of shenmue2 for 20 quid! So DC (all bits mentioned) 12 games including Shenmue2, Crazy taxi, Virtua Tennis, Headhunter, jet set radio, powerstone, res evil code veronica, bust a move 4 and a few others for 30 notes! I ended up buying a proper RGB scart off ebay for £1.75 + some postage so all in all not a bad package for under £35. The shenmue 2 is in very good nick with cardboard sleeve, both cases undamaged and all discs & instructions...as Games Guru mentioned these can go for around £30 by themselves!

That would be my advice anyway, just look to buy of sellers with decent feedback and you should be ok on Ebay.

Do you mean mine ? It's gone if you do :(

Good news it that it went to Next-Gen in Farnborough which, my spider senses tell me, isn't too far away from you i_like_it_cube - maybe worth dropping Steve a note to see what he can do for you ?

    Cheers, Carl.

The DC has little copy protection and as such all you need is a boot disc to play copied or other region games.

I must have downloaded 50 dreamcast games so far. Really adds a lease of life to it!

I somehow don't think that the guy you just bought the Dreamcast off, is gonna sell it to me. It had 2 modems, controllers, VMU and great games. Meh, might as well try Gamestation. I really wanted it for the modems though cos they're rare. Phantasy Star Online must be well kool.

Except it won't work online now that Sega have shut down the servers.

What do you mean the modems are rare? Broadband modems are very rare, yes, but only a few games support them anyway. Everything else uses dial up modems which came pre-installed in the machine.

I hate to sound like I'm tooting my own horn - but honestly, I do just work for them!

www.cex.co.uk will deliver you a dreamcast for 25 quid odd (usually got chipped ones too). Any games you don't see online give em a bell and ask to try and get one ordered. Years warranty on everything as well.

    /tooting mode.
